Web Design & Plan

Define your purpose

One of the first questions to consider is what is the purpose of the web site? Do you wish to promote your business on the web and/or sell your products on the site?

Where to Begin

Not surprisingly one of the best places to begin with is the web itself. A few hours of surfing ranging from the large corporate sites down to the numerous home page sites will give you a very clear impression of what you like and dislike. If you take a liking to any of the pages seen, even if it is just a particular design item or menu, then make a note of the URL, (the web address), this will give your designer a good idea for the look and feel of your site that you require.

Other important points to consider are your domain name and the web site Host ?

Project Assessment Form

Once you have formulated your initial ideas, please fill in the 'Project Assessment Form', we will then prepare a Web Site Quotation in which will give our professional advise and comments on your ideas and a price quotation and time estimate to complete the work. Please note that nothing is binding at this point. You may re-formulate your ideas and re-submit them as many times as you like until your are happy with the end result.

Once both parties are happy with the 'Project Assessment Form' we will draw up the 'Final Project Assessment Form' which you will be asked to sign and return and to include a cheque for 50% of the total cost. On receipt of this document and the part payment, indicates to us that you have decided to enter into a contract between us.

What to send us

You may then start sending us any brochures, text, images, photographs, letterheads, which will be used on the web page by email or post.

Please note that the design is not 'set in concrete' at this point. We allow a certain amount of flexibility in the design for both parties. But these changes to the initial agreement must be agreed on in writing by both parties and may require a review of the payment.

The Naming

You will require a Domain Name to help identify your web site. Domain Names must be registered, and are provided on a 'first come first serve' basis.

ARC WEB is a member of 'NOMINET', the UK naming Registry.

We offer a FREE DOMAN NAME Registration, and FREE UNLIMTED EMAIL ACCOUNTS with all our Web Design plans.

Web Hosting for your page

You will require also a company to host your web pages.
For further information, contact us clicking here.

ISP

You will also require an ISP to supply you with an Internet connection through your modem and telephone line. We will be happy to advise you on your selection of an ISP.

Work begins on the project

Work will now commence on your web site design as laid out in the 'Final Project Assessment Form'. If so requested, will send you the skeleton of your web site to ensure that you are happy with the basic design. We will accept any minor changes at this point but these changes must be agreed by both parties and may be subject to a review of the overall cost.

Ready for up-loading to your Web site

Once the site has been completed and the site tested off-line, the site will be up-loaded to your chosen hosting company's server and re-test on-line. We will then ask you to approve the site and provide final payment.

Promotion to search engines

All web sites need to be promoted. We will promote your web site with several search engines.

To do this, we will require up to 20 individual keywords (not sentences or phrases), which will be used by the search engines and spiders to locate your site.

Also we will require a brief description of your site that will be used by the search engines to display the contents of your site to Internet users.

Self Promotion

We advise that you promote your web site address at every available opportunity, letter headers, invoices etc., The internet is growing at a vast rate, using a search engine does not guarantee that your web site will be found, unless the browser knows your address.

This marks the end of the contract we have with you.

local business directory

The directory will be hosted on ARC Web Online server, and is run, promoted and financed by Arc Web company. People in your local community, looking for a business or a service, in their immediate vicinity, will be able to find your business in the local directory for your area.
